Celebrity Rehab 2 - Dr. Drew Update: The Honeymoon is Over

Published by realfan at 10:42 am under Entertainment Edit This

In any given situation, there is a “honeymoon” period. This is the time when people are brought together and they are generally on their better behavior, until the parameters are tested. Usually, after this “honeymoon” period of time, people will begin gravitating to their usual behavioral patterns. We can easily see this happen in reality shows such as “Real World”, “Big Brother” and “Survivor”.

Within Celebrity Rehab 2, their “honeymoon” period ended a couple of episodes ago and now the patients are getting very restless. The boundaries are being tested by almost everyone and Jeff Conaway is beginning to fall back into his usual testy patterns of whining, crying and generally; making everyone in the rehab lab dance to Jeff Conaway’s addiction blues. No one suffers like Jeff Conaway does.

Last season in Celebrity Rehab, we saw Jeff Conaway battle his addiction demons and make some progress. Jeff took center stage and became king of the addicts. Then, just when everyone thought Conaway was making some real headway, Jeff announced to Dr. Drew that he would be going in for surgery after rehab. Of course, Jeff’s surgery announcement simply meant that Jeff would be doing a lot of his favorite drugs of choice for a long time, yet again.

The question needs to be raised. What the hell was Jeff Conaway doing in a drug treatment center, when he was going to be taking a lot of addictive drugs soon after leaving rehab? This was a given!

It really came as no surprise to anyone that Jeff Conaway showed up again in Celebrity Rehab 2. I feel Jeff’s pain, but no one seems to understand what Jeff is going through, except Jeff. I understand why Jeff came back into rehab again, but I also do not see any end in sight, for Jeff’s addiction cycle.

In this last episode of Celebrity Rehab 2, we got to see Jeff doing a counseling session with Dr. Drew. Within a couple of minutes, Jeff suddenly announces to Dr. Drew that his girlfriend is physically abusive to him and that if she does this again, Jeff will kill her.

Dr. Drew pulls Jeff’s girlfriend into the session and as soon as this drama is put to rest, for the time being, Jeff begins to bring up other issues. The point is this. Jeff Conaway needs his own Celebrity Rehab show. Jeff has more unresolved issues that an addict can shake their addiction too. No one is more sick than Jeff Conaway. No one needs Dr. Drew’s help more than Jeff does. The simple truth is, no one can whine as loud as Jeff Conaway can and maybe this is why Conaway is once again taking center stage in Celebrity Rehab 2.

At the end of this episode, Jeff is again in a one, on one session with Dr. Drew. This time Jeff tells Dr. Drew that if he has to live without his opiates, he will kill himself. Dr. Drew ends the session, asking Jeff Conaway to think about what he just said.

Then we see Jeff on the phone talking to the police department, telling them that he wants to leave rehab, but they won’t let him go. When we see the previews for next week’s Celebrity Rehab 2, it’s all about Jeff Conaway yelling and crying to leave Rehab, yet again.

If Jeff Conaway keeps having to go into the hospital to have more back surgeries every other month, then of course they are going to offer Jeff a whole lot of painkillers as his medication. Will Jeff actually turn down his Vicodin and Oxycontin? Nooooo way!!!

There are several other patients within this episode of Celebrity Rehab 2 and they all want special treatment also. How is it that the one person in Celebrity Rehab 2 that can’t be helped, is stealing this show?

When not in Celebrity Rehab, this is Jeff with his girlfriend Vikki.

Vh1 should just call this farce what it really is. Celebrity Rehab 2, is really “The Jeff Conaway Rehab Circus”. If and when Vh1 decides to announce “Celebrity Rehab 3″, will anyone be surprised is Jeff Conaway is not cast in that upcoming season? I will be absolutely floored if Jeff is not in Celebrity Rehab 3. Vh1 can’t have a rehab party without the star attraction!
